Shakib joins the Global Super League's Dubai Capitals
For the forthcoming Global Super League (GSL), the Dubai Capitals have selected Shakib Al Hasan to replace South African spinner Keshav Maharaj, who is injured.
On Sunday afternoon, the team announced the signing on social media.
The Dubai Capitals are the current winners of the UAE's International League T20 and are owned by India's GMR Group, who also co-own the Delhi Capitals IPL team.
Shakib is anticipated to make his GSL debut on Tuesday when the Dubai Capitals play Central Districts, a domestic team from New Zealand, in the tournament's opening match.
On July 16, if everything goes according to plan, the Bangladesh all-rounder will also play against Rangpur Riders, his previous BPL team.
Shakib most recently participated in three games as a member of the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). His squad won the title even though he did not play in the final.
