Emon and Hridoy scored fifty runs, but Bangladesh was bowled out for 248.

In Saturday's second ODI versus Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium, Bangladesh elected to bat first and was bowled out for 248 in 45.5 overs, according to the Daily Sun.

While Towhid Hridoy hit 51 off 69 deliveries to support the middle order, opener Parvez Hossain Emon top-scored with a fluid 67 off 69 balls, which included six fours and three sixes. At 100 for 1 after 16 overs, Bangladesh appeared to be in a strong position, but they lost steam as wickets dropped often.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the captain, won the toss and chose to bat, but Tanzid Hasan's easy fall for seven quickly put the visitors behind them. After Najmul Hossain Shanto gave Charith Asalanka his wicket after adding 14 runs, Hasaranga bowled Emon with a fine googly. Bangladesh was struggling at 127 for 4, with Miraz managing just 9 before top-edging a pull off Dushmantha Chameera.

Before falling to a short ball from Asitha Fernando, who also trapped Jaker Ali leg before wicket for 24, Shamim Hossain, who had not played in the ODI team for almost two years, contributed with 23 off 22 balls.
With 33 off 21 balls and two fours and two sixes, Tanzim added late fireworks, but Bangladesh was dismissed before reaching their 50 overs because he ran out of partners. After a successful review, Mustafizur Rahman was last to fall, lbw to Hasaranga for a duck.

Asitha Fernando finished with 4 for 35, while Hasaranga finished with 3 for 60. Asalanka and Chameera both took a wicket.

Bangladesh will require a focused bowling effort to protect their total and salvage the series after falling behind 1-0 in the three-match series.
