There is little use in constantly drawing attention to domestic problems overseas: Khasru Amir

Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the standing committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, stated on Friday that there is no use in constantly bringing up the issues facing the nation outside.

He said that as the people of Bangladesh own the key to the solution, talks must take place within the nation.

Speaking as the main guest during a debate commemorating the 44th anniversary of former President Ziaur Rahman's passing this afternoon at the LGED auditorium in Muradpur, Chattogram, Amir Khasru made this statement.

The BNP leader remarked, "It is better to speak within the country," without mentioning anyone by name. It is more efficient to talk domestically rather than excessively internationally. This is, after all, an issue in Bangladesh. Discussing it overseas will not help.

"We have to speak up in Bangladesh and find a solution here," he said. Will the problems facing Bangladesh be resolved if we continue to travel outside to discuss these issues? No, it won't. The solution is here; the conversation must take place here. The people of Bangladesh hold the key to the answer.

"At the end of the day, whether it is reform or justice or anything else, the solution lies with the people of Bangladesh," Amir Khasru stated, highlighting the fact that the people are the answer to all issues. No second force is able to provide an answer. The people of Bangladesh are the only force.

The senior BNP leader stressed the need to wait for elections, saying that no significant changes could be made until an elected administration was chosen. Bangladesh needs a democratically elected government as soon as feasible. It does not really matter if any one side desires this or not. Democracy is what the people of Bangladesh are looking for.

Asking the party leaders and activists to move past minor disagreements, Amir Khasru said that if Bangladesh is to be properly built in line with the vision of Khaleda Zia and Ziaur Rahman, party members must act with urgency and momentum.

“If we lose that momentum, it will not work. We have to let go of minor internal disputes,” he added.

Chattogram city BNP organised the event, which was presided over by city BNP convener Ershad Ullah and conducted by member secretary Nazimur Rahman.
